Learning to Cook

Antes de leer: Sophie decide cocinar sola por primera vez siguiendo una receta. Observa cómo se usan los comparativos para comparar su experiencia con lo que esperaba, y también el vocabulario de cocina y las instrucciones de una receta.

Sophie decided to cook pasta with tomato sauce for the first time. She opened a recipe on her phone and read the list of ingredients.

She put a pan on the stove and added some oil. Then she chopped an onion. It was harder than she thought!

Sophie added the onion to the pan and waited. After five minutes, she put in the tomatoes and some herbs. The kitchen smelled wonderful.

Cooking the pasta was easier than the sauce. She just boiled water, added salt, and waited ten minutes. The recipe said: "Do not overcook the pasta." Sophie was more careful this time.

Finally, she mixed everything together. It looked better than she expected! Sophie tasted it and smiled. "Not bad for a first try," she thought. Next time it will be even tastier.
