The Decision

Antes de leer: Marco trabaja en una empresa estable pero lleva tiempo soñando con montar su propio negocio. La historia refleja su proceso de decisión. Fíjate en el segundo condicional (If I left... I would...) que se usa para explorar posibilidades que aún no han ocurrido.

Marco has a stable job at a large accounting firm. The salary is good and the hours are reasonable. But every morning on the bus, he thinks about his own business idea — a small app for local food markets.

"If I left my job now, I would have more time to develop the app," he thinks. "But if I didn't have a steady income, I would struggle to pay my rent."

He talks to his friend Elena, who launched her own startup two years ago. "It was terrifying," she admits. "But if I hadn't taken the risk, I would still be sitting in a job I hated."

Marco makes a list of pros and cons. On one side: security, benefits, a clear career path. On the other: freedom, passion, and the chance to build something of his own.

In the end, Marco decides to stay — but only for six more months. He will use that time to save money and finish a working prototype. Then he will decide for real. Not everything has to happen overnight.
