Al terminar esta lección podrás:

  • Usar "It is/was + X + who/that/which" para enfatizar el sujeto
  • Usar "What + cláusula + is/was + énfasis" para enfatizar la acción
  • Usar "The reason/thing/place + that/why + cláusula"
  • Aplicar cleft sentences en escritura académica y conversación
"Cleft" significa dividir — partes la oración para resaltar una parte

"John called." → Simple. "It was JOHN who called." → Énfasis en quién llamó. "What John did was CALL." → Énfasis en la acción. La información enfatizada va entre "It was..." y "who/that", o después de "What...is/was".

Diálogo real

Cleft sentences en conversación — no solo escritura:
"What I'm saying is, we need a plan." — muy natural en conversación
"It's the timing that worries me." — correcto en discusión oral
"All I need is five more minutes." — 100% coloquial
"It wasn't until I read it twice that I understood." — perfecto en cualquier registro
Las cleft sentences son versátiles — funcionan tanto en textos formales como en conversación natural.
